#InsightDiscovery, by Dirk Duden

Publicado en: Firmas, SH19 0

In less than two weeks I will be attending and speaking at #SuperHéroes19 for the first time, and I wanted to introduce to you here our topic of #InsightDiscovery: seeing what others don’t. There will be a 1hr Training as well as a 30’ HyperClass on how you can differentiate your project or business, make competition irrelevant, and create first mover advantage – or what we call in Go-to-market Strategy, ‚Blue Ocean Shifts‘.

Both sessions will be in easy-to-understand English, and rich with visual examples (video, demo, awareness) and lively interaction. Participants will take away new inspiration and a practical methodology for creating innovative ideas, besides sharing good fun and remarkable stories. Think of the format as a combination of TEDx-talk and gaming. Make sure to register for the 1hr Training as places are limited! The Hyperclass will show different interactive examples, so don’t miss that one either!

JFYI – my name is Dirk Duden, MD of Poco común consulting, and I firmly believe that we can be Heroes for more than just one day… I also believe that not everyone can be a SuperHero but a SuperHero can come from anywhere. As a former airforce pilot who became a business executive and later founder/director of a marketing consultancy company based on Lanzarote, I think I am well placed to say that ‚anything goes‘! You can be a remote worker on the Canarias and next day sit at the table with executive leaders of global companies.

“If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it”. Creative thinking is not synonymous with safe thinking, yet we forget to take risks when trying to come up with truly great ideas. This is something that Albert Einstein, the originator of this quote, is famous for understanding.

In these days of AI, digital transformation and advanced analytics, people are using a buzz word that became inflated, misunderstood and abused. Every little bit of information gets called „insight“. I want to take you back to the original meaning of the term. Because if you don‘t know what you‘re looking for, you probaby ain‘t gonna find it. But how exactly do you discover game-changing, breakthrough ideas? How do you make sure you have one? What do we mean by ‚serendipity‘? These and other questions will be covered in our session that will make you wonder:“Now why didn’t we think of that before?“.

Oh yes, and then there is this anecdote: Avutarda Hubara is a rare, uncommon bird (poco común) that used to live on Gran Canaria, therefore named ‚hubara canaria‘ (Latin: Chlamydotis undulata), but became extinct and now survives only on Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Graciosa. Imagine the European version of Beep Beep the Roadrunner, desparately chased by the Coyote, but never caught. The epiphany of agility, confidence, creativity and joy! With #SuperHeroes19, the hubara bustard returns from Lanzarote to Gran Canaria. Don’t miss him!

See you 27th September in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Casa de Colón
